Book Brooch, Paper Flower
Each of my flower brooches is made using pages of unwanted books, using paper cutting to create an exquisite paper flower, based on the form of a wild rose. Each flower is unique and comes packed in its own sturdy gift box.
They give a literary touch to a special outfit, and are wonderful as wedding details for bridesmaids or the bride and groom.
Each petal is attached separately to give a natural effect. I've added a pearl to the centre, to give it a touch of shine - the gentle sheen of the pearl is enhanced by the soft cream and beige colours of the paper.
The brooch is 2 3/4 inches (7cm) in diameter. It is finished with a silver plated pin back.
To protect it from the elements, I've coated the paper in a clear sealant that also makes the paper stronger and makes it resistant to tearing. However, it is a delicate item and shouldn't be taken out in the rain, or crushed.
The rose comes boxed in a sturdy container to prevent damage while shipping, and the box is also suitable for gift giving.
